DMK treasurer and Leader of Opposition M.K. Stalin welcomed the decision of Tamil Nadu Governor Ch. Vidyasagar Rao allocating all portfolios held by Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa to Finance Minister O. Panneerselvam during her prolonged hospitalization. He noted that the Governor's constitutional intervention aligned directly with the DMK's persistent demand to ensure uninterrupted administrative governance and institutional accountability in the state.

Following weeks of uncertainty regarding executive decision-making and cabinet functionality, the interim arrangement authorized the Finance Minister to preside over cabinet meetings and handle key departments, including Home, Police, and Public Administration. Stalin pointed out that Tamil Nadu faced pressing administrative challenges, including the severe agrarian crisis in the Cauvery delta, pending local body elections, and monsoon preparedness, which demanded immediate ministerial leadership. He emphasized that the state could not function in an administrative vacuum, and executive paralysis had harmed public welfare. Stalin reiterated that while wishing the Chief Minister a speedy recovery, the functioning of democratic governance must remain transparent and continuous.

Stalin expressed hope that the council of ministers would now address urgent state issues and restore administrative efficiency.
