DMK leader M.K. Stalin held the Tamil Nadu government strictly accountable on October 29, 2016, for deliberately concealing the true severity and casualty figures of widespread dengue and viral fever outbreaks, while precious young lives were being tragically extinguished across the state.

Stalin pointed out that government hospitals and primary health centers across rural and urban districts were overflowing with fever patients, with pediatric wards facing acute shortages of beds, essential medicines, and trained medical personnel. Instead of declaring a public health emergency, launching aggressive anti-larval fogging drives, and ensuring clean drinking water, the state health department focused on underreporting infection numbers to protect the regime's image. Stalin expressed profound anguish that school children and young adults were succumbing to preventable vector-borne diseases due to criminal administrative negligence.

The opposition leader demanded that the state administration immediately publish truthful epidemiological data, allocate emergency funding for municipal sanitation, and organize specialized fever medical camps in every vulnerable town and village. Stalin emphasized that public healthcare must prioritize human lives, preventive healthcare, and disease containment over political face-saving, image management, and bureaucratic deception.
