Stalin recalled that following the tragic collapse of the twin tower's counterpart in June 2014, which killed sixty-one construction workers, the second high-rise stood dangerously tilted, posing an imminent threat to thousands of local residents and schoolchildren in the vicinity. While the AIADMK administration showed lethargy and delay, the DMK pursued public interest litigation before the Supreme Court and Madras High Court, presenting expert engineering testimonies proving that the structure was beyond repair and required immediate raxing.
