Stalin observed that instead of formally scrapping the dangerous proposal that threatens the drinking water supplies of Coimbatore and irrigation across the Bhavani basin, central authorities opted for temporary procedural maneuvers. He argued that keeping the clearance in abeyance left open the sinister possibility of reviving environmental approvals at an opportune political moment, thereby leaving Tamil Nadu's agrarian security hanging in precarious uncertainty. Stalin criticized the state AIADMK administration for celebrating this partial deferral as a triumph rather than demanding absolute cancellation.

The opposition leader affirmed that the farmers and citizens of western Tamil Nadu would not be misled by cosmetic bureaucratic pauses.
