DMK working president M.K. Stalin sharply reprimanded the ruling AIADMK leadership on February 10, 2017, declaring that ensuring public security and preventing heinous crimes against vulnerable children is the foremost constitutional obligation of any government, far surpassing vulgar internal squabbles over who captures the Chief Minister's chair. Speaking in the wake of the gruesome murder of child Hasini, Stalin observed that while ministers, MLAs, and administrative heads were entirely preoccupied with backroom factional alignments and resort maneuvering, basic civilian security across Tamil Nadu had completely collapsed.
Stalin remarked that a political dispensation that abandons citizen safety to engage in shameless power grabbing possesses no moral authority to occupy ministerial office. When administrative vigilance dissolves into factional chaos, criminals act without deterrence, placing innocent children, women, and vulnerable families at catastrophic risk in their own neighborhoods. He maintained that governance is judged not by the survival of political cabals, but by the state's capacity to protect its most innocent citizens from barbaric violence.
The opposition leader demanded that executive machinery immediately redirect its full attention toward restoring public safety and enforcing strict law and order across all urban and rural districts.
