DMK working president M.K. Stalin expressed grave concern on February 13, 2017, over the acute distress suffered by citizens across Tamil Nadu due to the unprincipled factional war for power between rival AIADMK camps situated at Koovathur resort and Greenways Road. Stalin pointed out that while over one hundred ruling party legislators were confined inside a luxury coastal resort under the supervision of V.K. Sasikala's family, and former Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam operated from his official residence, the entire administrative apparatus of the state remained completely paralyzed.
Stalin observed that critical sectors, including drought relief for distressed farmers, drinking water distribution in parched districts, public distribution system operations, and civil infrastructure projects, were brought to a total standstill. Government offices across the state functioned without executive direction or ministerial supervision, forcing ordinary citizens to endure bureaucratic inertia. The vulgar spectacle of elected representatives being treated like cattle in private resorts while public distress mounted exposed the complete moral decay of the ruling dispensation.
The opposition leader demanded an immediate end to this self-serving political drama. He stated that the people of Tamil Nadu will never forgive those who abandoned governance for personal ambition.
