DMK working president M.K. Stalin issued a strict directive to party functionaries and cadres across Tamil Nadu on March 1, 2017, instructing them not to use loudspeakers or sound amplifiers during his birthday events, ensuring that students preparing for crucial school examinations face no acoustic disturbance. Stalin pointed out that the month of March coincides with annual board examinations and final academic assessments for school and college learners across the state, demanding an atmosphere of calm and concentration.
Stalin emphasized that genuine political affection must never cause inconvenience to the public or compromise the academic performance of young students. He noted that children from ordinary working-class families often depend on quiet evening hours in neighborhood homes to revise their curricula, and festive noise from political celebrations can severely disrupt their concentration. Party workers should demonstrate social responsibility by observing celebrations with dignity, focusing on quiet welfare activities rather than celebratory noise.
The opposition leader reiterated his call for cadres to channel their organizational enthusiasm into distributing books, supporting orphanages, and organizing blood donation camps. He stressed that civic decency must remain the defining feature of DMK public events.
