DMK working president M.K. Stalin called upon party cadres and supporters on March 6, 2017, to take a solemn pledge to re-establish a progressive DMK government in Tamil Nadu, working tirelessly along the egalitarian path chartered by Perarignar Anna to build a society completely free of social domination and discrimination. Stalin declared that the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam will persistently continue its historic democratic march guided by constitutional principles, rationalist thought, and popular service.

Stalin reflected on the fiftieth anniversary of the historic 1967 legislative triumph when Anna established the first non-Congress Dravidian administration, transforming Tamil Nadu into an egalitarian citadel of social justice and regional autonomy. He emphasized that the DMK's political mission was never merely to hold executive office, but to wield legislative authority as an instrument to dismantle caste hierarchies, advance gender equality, and protect regional language rights. Stalin reminded cadre that this legacy of service demands unwavering dedication and integrity.

The opposition leader urged all party wings to rededicate themselves to mass outreach, address people's pressing daily struggles, and mobilize grassroots support to bring back accountable, people-centric democratic administration to Tamil Nadu.
