DMK working president M.K. Stalin declared on March 29, 2017, that the electorate of Dr Radhakrishnan Nagar is fully prepared to drive out rival AIADMK factions that have plundered the state through rampant corruption and political betrayal. Addressing campaign gatherings, Stalin asserted that citizens have grown thoroughly exhausted with the unprincipled factional warfare between groups aligned with illicit money networks. He emphasized that voters understand the severe damage inflicted on Tamil Nadu's administrative machinery by these competing ruling groups.

Stalin observed that both factions share direct accountability for years of infrastructural decay, civic neglect, and economic mismanagement across North Chennai. Instead of attending to public grievances or delivering promised civic development, the divided ruling leadership squandered public resources and degraded democratic conventions. Stalin pointed out that working-class neighborhoods across RK Nagar continue to endure contaminated water, neglected drainage networks, and chronic civic underdevelopment under AIADMK legislators.

The opposition leader stated that the by-election offers citizens a decisive democratic opportunity to reject institutional corruption. He urged electors to endorse the DMK candidate on the Rising Sun symbol to restore accountable governance and dignified representation.
