DMK working president M.K. Stalin demanded on March 31, 2017, that both Union and state governments promptly issue an exhaustive white paper answering serious questions surrounding the quiet reinstatement of former Chief Secretary P. Rama Mohana Rao. Stalin emphasized that seven crore citizens of Tamil Nadu have an inalienable right to know why a top official whose office and residences were raided by federal investigators was suddenly restored to government service without public explanation.
Stalin observed that the entire episode was shrouded in suspicious secrecy. Following massive raids, seized documents, and high-profile media statements, the investigation appeared to have been quietly buried through political manipulation. Reinstating an official facing grave corruption allegations without publishing the findings of investigative agencies undermined the credibility of both the state administration and central tax enforcement bodies. Stalin stressed that transparent governance requires proactive disclosure of facts rather than opaque executive orders.
The opposition leader affirmed that the DMK will persistently demand institutional transparency and clean public administration. He called upon authorities to release the white paper immediately and explain the factual grounds for the controversial reinstatement.
