Editorial context

DMK working president M.K. Stalin expressed profound ideological indignation on April 3, 2017, stating that disabling the Dravidian Movement Research Centre by the AIADMK government constituted an enormous act of treachery against Dravidian society. Stalin emphasized that the centre was established to safeguard the philosophical heritage of Periyar E.V. Ramasamy, Perarignar Anna, and Muthamizharignar Kalaignar Karunanidhi. Allowing such an institution to languish without staff or maintenance demonstrated total subservience to regressive ideologies.

Stalin pointed out that the Dravidian renaissance had reshaped modern Indian democracy by demonstrating that linguistic pride, social reform, and scientific development can flourish together. Through sustained political agitation and progressive state policies, the movement secured equality for backward classes, Dalits, and women. By locking up archives and halting historical publications, the ruling regime sought to erase the collective memory of social emancipation. Stalin declared that genuine Tamils would never forgive this deliberate desecration of their intellectual legacy.

The opposition leader reiterated the DMK's historic commitment to defending rationalist thought, linguistic heritage, and social equality. He promised that the DMK would restore the centre to global academic prominence.

This is an initiative of unofficial DMK and Dravidian Ideology supporter, a fan of Thanthai Periyar, Perarignar Anna and Kalaignar — not affiliated with any official DMK party or persons.
