DMK working president M.K. Stalin conducted an extensive evening campaign tour across the Dr Radhakrishnan Nagar assembly constituency on April 7, 2017, rallying local communities to defeat corrupt ruling factions and elect DMK nominee Marudhu Ganesh. Moving through bustling lanes and residential clusters, Stalin was greeted with traditional honors, flower petals, and enthusiastic slogans by thousands of working-class families. He listened patiently to local elders, women, and youths who shared their daily civic challenges.

Stalin emphasized that the RK Nagar by-election was not merely a contest for a legislative seat, but a decisive referendum against corrupt governance and broken administrative promises. North Chennai had endured decades of official apathy, lacking basic sanitation, reliable drinking water, and quality civic infrastructure. Stalin pledged that electing Marudhu Ganesh, a genuine local resident who understood neighborhood realities, would ensure proactive legislative representation and prompt resolution of civic grievances.
