Shameful silence of ADMK Government on #beef regulation is antithesis to self respect & reveals deep rot. Inching towards Marina Revolution

DMK working president M.K. Stalin condemned the AIADMK government on May 31, 2017, for maintaining total silence regarding the Union government's contentious notification restricting cattle trade and slaughter. Stalin remarked that the state administration's refusal to oppose central directives was antithetical to the self-respect movement and demonstrated deep ideological surrender. He warned that persistent government indifference toward citizen sentiment was pushing Tamil Nadu toward a massive public uprising reminiscent of the Marina beach demonstrations.

Stalin observed that the central notification directly undermined the livestock economy, rural livelihoods, and individual dietary freedom. While neighboring states like Kerala registered vehement official objections and convened special assembly sessions, the Tamil Nadu cabinet remained silent to appease central authorities. According to Stalin, this capitulation exposed the ruling party's fear of confronting New Delhi even when regional economic interests and personal liberties were actively threatened.

The opposition leader affirmed that the DMK would stand at the forefront of public mobilization against arbitrary central fiats. He asserted that self-respect and state rights form the foundation of Tamil Nadu's political ethos. Stalin declared that no government could survive in Tamil Nadu while remaining subservient to policies that erode constitutional autonomy.
