DMK working president M.K. Stalin addressed party workers and supporters on June 3, 2017, marking the ninety-fourth birthday of DMK president M. Karunanidhi. Stalin declared that Karunanidhi's intellect, political philosophy, and public service knew no rest or retirement. Even amidst health challenges, Karunanidhi's visionary ideas and decades of dedicated leadership continued to guide and motivate the Dravidian movement across Tamil Nadu.

Stalin called upon every party member to rededicate themselves to fulfilling the social and political objectives championed by Karunanidhi throughout his seven-decade public career. These core objectives included advancing social justice, defending backward and oppressed communities, protecting the Tamil language, and securing authentic federal rights for states. He reminded the cadre that genuine loyalty to the veteran leader required tireless grassroots labor and organizational discipline.

The opposition leader affirmed that the DMK remained steadfast in carrying forward Karunanidhi's political mission in both the legislature and the public domain. He stressed that the ideals of self-respect, rationalism, and democratic federalism were more vital than ever in the contemporary political climate. Stalin urged cadres to stand united and work relentlessly for public welfare.
