DMK working president M.K. Stalin launched a trenchant critique against the AIADMK administration on June 10, 2017, characterizing the state government as totally inert and ineffective. Comparing the government's functioning to a stone dropped into a deep well, Stalin remarked that the administration showed zero momentum and delivered not the slightest benefit to the public. He asserted that citizens across Tamil Nadu had grown acutely aware of the governance vacuum.
Stalin pointed out that key administrative departments had ground to a halt amidst internal power struggles following the passing of former Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa. Routine governance, public grievance redressal, and essential civic works had been abandoned while ruling party factions focused exclusively on maintaining legislative majorities. According to Stalin, this prolonged administrative paralysis inflicted severe distress on farmers, traders, workers, and students throughout the state.
The opposition leader declared that an unmoving administration had lost the moral right to govern Tamil Nadu. He reiterated that the DMK would continue to mobilize public opinion and hold executive authorities accountable for systemic failures. Stalin called for restoring administrative competence, fiscal discipline, and responsive governance to alleviate the hardships endured by Tamil Nadu citizens.
