DMK working president M.K. Stalin observed on July 2, 2017, that the citizens of Tamil Nadu had reached a decisive tipping point against the ruling administration. Stalin stated that widespread public anger and visible ground sentiment demonstrated that the people were fully prepared to bring an end to what he described as an unjust and oppressive regime. He noted that widespread dissatisfaction was unmistakable across towns and rural areas alike.
The opposition leader pointed out that the state government suffered from complete administrative paralysis, high-level corruption allegations, and total subservience to central dictates. Essential public services had broken down, while civic grievances regarding drinking water shortages, agrarian distress, and unemployment went unaddressed. Stalin highlighted that factional disputes within the ruling dispensation had consumed executive attention, leaving common citizens to bear the consequences of governance failure.
Stalin affirmed that the DMK would continue to channel public discontent through constitutional and democratic avenues. He asserted that the public's desire for clean and responsive leadership would inevitably translate into decisive political change. The party committed itself to restoring dignity, stability, and integrity to Tamil Nadu governance.
