DMK working president M.K. Stalin severely criticized the ruling AIADMK government on July 27, 2017, accusing it of enacting deceptive dramas over NEET to escape central corruption probes. Stalin asserted that ministers mired in unaccounted wealth, bribery allegations, and Income Tax scrutiny had completely subordinated state interests to central rulers in New Delhi. To shield themselves from criminal prosecution, the state cabinet surrendered Tamil Nadu's hard-won educational autonomy and quietly conceded to the imposition of NEET.

Stalin pointed out that while claiming to fight for student welfare in public press briefings, the administration systematically delayed following up on the exemption bills submitted to the Union government. State representatives avoided confrontation with central ministers because they feared enforcement raids at their residences and business premises. This shameless horse-trading regime sacrificed the medical aspirations of lakhs of rural students simply to protect private personal fortunes.

The DMK leader maintained that the people of Tamil Nadu saw through this duplicitous political posturing. Stalin vowed that the DMK would expose this betrayal in every village and continue fighting until genuine educational justice is restored.
