DMK working president M.K. Stalin called on party president Kalaignar Karunanidhi and general secretary Professor K. Anbazhagan in Chennai on July 29, 2017, to present the first formal invitations for Murasoli's upcoming Platinum Jubilee celebrations. Scheduled for August 10 and 11, the landmark event marked seventy-five years since Kalaignar founded Murasoli in 1942 as a small publication that evolved into the ideological vanguard of the Dravidian movement. Stalin received the blessings of both legendary leaders ahead of the historic national conclave.

Stalin noted that receiving the blessings of the founding visionary and veteran general secretary imbued the platinum jubilee preparations with profound historical sanctity. Murasoli had stood as a fortress of rationalism, social justice, and Tamil linguistic dignity, fearlessly withstanding state repression and authoritarian censorship during the Emergency. The upcoming celebrations aimed to honor this glorious journalistic legacy and re-energize party cadres across generations.

The DMK leader expressed heartfelt joy at Kalaignar's radiant enthusiasm for the seventy-fifth anniversary commemorative festivities. Stalin affirmed that Murasoli would continue to champion the rights of the underprivileged and articulate the democratic aspirations of Tamil Nadu.
