DMK working president M.K. Stalin declared on August 22, 2017, that Tamil Nadu would never forgive the central and state governments for driving the final nail into the coffin of medical aspirants dreams. Stalin expressed profound anguish over the sudden cancellation of the proposed exemption ordinance, observing that rural students who scored high marks through tireless dedication had been brutally discarded by an insensitive administrative system. He condemned both governments for treating the lives and careers of young learners with casual indifference.
Stalin observed that the imposition of NEET dismantled decades of progressive social engineering that had made Tamil Nadu a pioneer in accessible medical healthcare. By shutting the doors of government medical colleges to first-generation learners and rural children, the authorities had struck a devastating blow against social mobility. The unholy nexus between central diktats and state compliance had dealt an irreparable shock to thousands of hardworking families across the state.
The DMK leader pledged that the battle for educational justice was far from over. He vowed that the DMK would continue to spearhead statewide democratic resistance until the rights of Tamil Nadu students were fully restored.
