DMK working president M.K. Stalin demanded on August 22, 2017, that Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami, state Health Minister C. Vijayabaskar, and AIADMK parliamentarians publicly kneel before the people and apologize for ruining students medical careers. Stalin pointed out that the ruling party representatives had made grandiose assurances in the media, claiming that an ordinance exempting Tamil Nadu from NEET was guaranteed. However, their sudden surrender in the Supreme Court exposed their promises as contemptible political deception.

Stalin stated that despite having thirty-seven MPs in the Lok Sabha, the third-largest parliamentary bloc in the country, the AIADMK completely failed to exert pressure on the central BJP government. Instead of leveraging their numbers to protect the state welfare, ruling party leaders utilized their political influence solely to shield themselves from corruption investigations. As a direct result of their cowardice, thousands of meritorious state board students were shut out of medical colleges.

The DMK leader affirmed that the people of Tamil Nadu would never forgive this monumental betrayal. He declared that those who sacrificed students dreams for self-preservation must be held fully accountable by the public.
