DMK working president M.K. Stalin addressed a mammoth all-party protest demonstration in Chennai on August 24, 2017, registering fierce condemnation against the Union and state governments for betraying Tamil Nadu medical aspirants. Stalin asserted that both administrations were guilty of deceptive political posturing that devastated the futures of tens of thousands of hardworking students. After dangling false hopes of an exemption ordinance for months, the authorities performed a shocking reversal in court, leaving young applicants completely stranded.
Stalin highlighted the inspiring unity displayed by opposition political parties, student organizations, and civic groups on a common platform. He remarked that this joint mobilization reflected the universal outrage felt by parents and educators across the state. Imposing a centralized examination without harmonizing curricula or providing adequate preparation was a calculated institutional fraud designed to favor commercial coaching institutes at the expense of government school pupils.
The DMK leader warned the government that democratic protests would intensify across Tamil Nadu until permanent legislative exemption was secured. He declared that the DMK-led alliance would tirelessly defend the educational rights of the oppressed, vowing that student interests would never be compromised.
