DMK working president M.K. Stalin undertook a comprehensive inspection tour of Tiruvarur assembly constituency on August 26, 2017, representing DMK President and local legislator Kalaignar Karunanidhi. Stalin examined numerous public welfare works financed through the MLA Constituency Development Scheme, including newly laid rural link roads, renovated irrigation sluices, drinking water storage tanks, and modernized community hall facilities. He held discussions with local farmers, panchayat representatives, and municipal engineers to ensure that civic initiatives met high quality standards.

Stalin observed that Tiruvarur held a special place in the hearts of Dravidian movement cadres as the home constituency of Kalaignar Karunanidhi. Despite health constraints preventing the veteran leader from traveling in person, Stalin assured residents that their representative remained continuously attentive to their civic welfare. The DMK leadership maintained active oversight over local development to ensure that rural infrastructure, irrigation canals, and basic amenities in the Cauvery delta region were maintained without disruption.

The DMK leader reaffirmed that constituency development represented a sacred commitment to grassroots communities. He pledged that all pending projects would be expedited to provide sustainable economic relief to local farming households.
