DMK working president M.K. Stalin addressed an enormous public meeting in Paramathi Velur constituency in Namakkal district on August 31, 2017. Addressing a mammoth gathering of farmers, weavers, youth, and party cadres, Stalin expressed deep appreciation for the overwhelming public turnout and militant enthusiasm. He noted that the massive attendance reflected widespread citizen indignation against the corrupt AIADMK regime and demonstrated growing popular anticipation for a progressive DMK administration.
Stalin highlighted the pressing grievances of the western region, including persistent water shortages in the Cauvery basin, sluggish agricultural growth, and mounting distress among powerloom operators and local poultry farmers. He criticized the state government for failing to complete crucial irrigation check dams and neglecting basic infrastructure in rural Namakkal. While the ruling faction squandered public resources to maintain its tenuous legislative grip, ordinary citizens were left without essential administrative assistance.
The DMK leader pledged that a future DMK government would implement dedicated industrial and water management policies to rejuvenate the local agrarian and textile economy. He urged party workers to maintain close ties with grassroots communities and spearhead people struggles relentlessly.
