DMK working president M.K. Stalin expressed profound grief and resolute determination on September 3, 2017, while mourning the heartbreaking loss of young medical aspirant S. Anitha. Stalin lamented that just as Anitha life was cruelly snuffed out, Tamil Nadu hard-won social justice principles and state autonomy were being systematically eroded by centralized mandates. He resolved that the burning sorrow gripping the hearts of millions would be transformed into an unquenchable flame of democratic mass resistance across every village and town.
Stalin highlighted that the Dravidian movement drew its historic strength from transforming tragedy and injustice into historic legislative reforms. Anitha courageous journey to the Supreme Court of India to defend regional rights represented the pinnacle of self-respect and grassroots consciousness. Her unjust death had awakened an entire generation of students and youth who refused to accept subservience to centralizing authorities.
The DMK leader assured the youth of Tamil Nadu that their fight was his own. He pledged that the party would lead this righteous crusade until the state restored its complete sovereign right to determine medical admissions without arbitrary central interference.
