DMK working president M.K. Stalin condemned the Bharatiya Janata Party on September 9, 2017, for running an unsubstantiated propaganda campaign against Tamil Nadu's school education system. Stalin asserted that conducting the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test strictly based on the CBSE syllabus and subsequently claiming that state board standards were inferior represented dishonest political spin. He pointed out that over ninety-five percent of school students in Tamil Nadu studied under the state board curriculum, making the centralized test structurally biased toward privileged urban elites.
Stalin emphasized that Tamil Nadu possessed one of India's most effective healthcare delivery models, built entirely by medical professionals who graduated through the state board system. Decades of equitable access allowed children from rural farming and working-class backgrounds to become exceptional doctors serving in primary health centres. Disparaging this proven public healthcare foundation to justify a centralized commercial testing regime was deeply malicious.
The DMK leader insisted that school education must remain under state jurisdiction to preserve regional diversity and social equity. He reaffirmed DMK's absolute resolve to repeal centralized entrance examinations that disadvantage hardworking vernacular learners across government schools.
