DMK working president M.K. Stalin sharply challenged the ruling AIADMK government on September 14, 2017, exposing its glaring double standards in judicial litigation and policy defense. Stalin pointed out that when the Madras High Court ordered comprehensive crop loan waivers for all distressed cultivators, the state government swiftly filed an appeal in the Supreme Court, arguing vehemently that determining beneficiaries was an exclusive executive policy decision. However, when central authorities forcibly imposed NEET, completely dismantling Tamil Nadu's established admission policy, the regime meekly surrendered without challenging the intrusion.
Stalin questioned why the administration showed extraordinary zeal in denying financial relief to struggling farmers while displaying cowardly passivity when state educational autonomy and students' futures were crushed. Both the legislative assembly and public consensus had unanimously resolved to exempt Tamil Nadu from centralized medical entrance tests. Yet the state cabinet failed to mount a vigorous constitutional challenge in apex judicial forums to protect its sovereign legislative prerogatives.
The DMK leader sternly censured the ruling dispensation for abandoning core state interests simply to placate central political masters. He reaffirmed the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam's unshakeable commitment to fight for educational federalism and student welfare.
