DMK working president M.K. Stalin issued a stern warning on October 4, 2017, against senior administrative officials who compromised civil service neutrality to facilitate partisan political events. Pointing specifically to official invitations issued under the signature of the Chief Secretary for politicized functions, Stalin stated that top bureaucrats were actively aiding the ruling dispensation's questionable political propaganda. He warned that public servants who acted as partisan accomplices in violating established civil service rules would face stringent legal accountability once political change occurred.

Stalin emphasized that the permanent civil service must remain insulated from partisan electoral calculations. Bureaucrats, including district collectors and department heads, were obligated by constitutional oaths to maintain professional integrity and uphold administrative propriety. When high-ranking officials compelled government staff, public transport buses, and municipal resources to stage ruling faction celebrations, they degraded the institutional credibility of the entire state apparatus.

The DMK leader urged civil servants across Tamil Nadu to remember their statutory duty toward the public rather than bowing to unlawful ministerial demands. He reaffirmed that public administration must function transparently according to established legal norms.
