DMK working president M.K. Stalin issued a statewide clarion call on October 12, 2017, directing all Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam cadres to mobilize immediately for dengue relief and vector control. Expressing profound concern over escalating fever fatalities and overcrowded government hospitals, Stalin stressed that party workers must assist vulnerable families across towns and villages. He instructed local units to coordinate with public health workers, identify mosquito breeding hotspots, and execute sustained environmental sanitation drives.

Stalin highlighted that the state administration's delayed response and underfunded municipal sanitation created an unprecedented public health crisis. Under these challenging circumstances, grassroots political organizations bore a moral duty to bridge institutional gaps. He asked party wings to organize free distribution camps for Nilavembu Kudineer, donate blood for platelet-deficient patients, and facilitate prompt medical care for impoverished fever victims.

The DMK leader emphasized that protecting civilian lives and welfare transcended ordinary partisan political activities. He urged cadres to maintain round-the-clock emergency support desks in every district party office across the state. Stalin affirmed that collective civic dedication, timely medical aid, and proactive sanitation were crucial to controlling the epidemic and safeguarding public health.
