DMK working president M.K. Stalin actively participated in public health and sanitation initiatives across his Kolathur assembly constituency on October 15, 2017. Working directly alongside local civic volunteers and party cadres, Stalin helped clear accumulated roadside garbage heaps, desilt clogged drainage channels, and sanitize mosquito-breeding hotspots. He personally distributed freshly prepared Nilavembu Kudineer herbal concoctions and educational dengue awareness pamphlets to local households, urging families to maintain clean domestic water storage.

Stalin emphasized that the acute surge in dengue infections throughout Chennai required immediate, hands-on community mobilization. Rather than waiting for inadequate municipal sanitation squads, local communities and political representatives needed to collaborate directly to eliminate stagnant water pockets. He interacted warmly with neighborhood residents, listened to their civic grievances regarding intermittent waste clearance, and instructed DMK constituency workers to maintain uninterrupted sanitation drives.

The DMK leader underscored that preventive public healthcare demanded proactive grassroots commitment, consistent community vigilance, and civic hygiene. He affirmed that safeguarding public health remained a continuous social duty for all public representatives.
