DMK working president M.K. Stalin attended a grand student felicitation ceremony in Coimbatore on October 29, 2017, organized by the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam Youth Wing. During the event, Stalin personally awarded prizes and merit certificates to school and college students who excelled in state-level elocution, poetry, and essay competitions. He commended the young participants for demonstrating articulate grasp of progressive social themes, rationalist philosophy, and Tamil literary traditions.

Stalin highlighted that the DMK youth wing consistently nurtured public speaking, analytical thinking, and creative writing skills among the student community. He recalled that the Dravidian movement was built on persuasive oratory, robust journalistic debates, and ideological education led by Periyar E.V. Ramasamy and C.N. Annadurai. Encouraging youth to participate in constructive debates protected regional intellectual traditions against cultural homogenization.

The DMK leader exhorted students to utilize their talents to champion social justice, scientific temperament, and gender equality in everyday life. He affirmed that educational institutions and social organizations must nurture independent critical faculties among young minds. Stalin extended warm felicitations to the educators and parents who guided the talented youngsters to regional success.
