Under the pretext of #MGRcentenary, the AIADMK govt. continues to blatantly violate the High Court's order on obstructive & dangerous hoardings - now resulting in the death of Raghu, a promising young engineer in Coimbatore. I condemn this lawless govt. in the strongest terms. https://t.co/tkbm9NDlHk

DMK working president M.K. Stalin issued an unequivocal condemnation on November 26, 2017, holding the ruling AIADMK government culpable for the tragic demise of Raghu, a promising young software engineer in Coimbatore. Raghu lost his life when his motorcycle collided with an obstructive wooden structure erected illegally across the roadway for ruling party MGR centenary celebrations. Stalin denounced the administration for brazenly flouting explicit Madras High Court directives prohibiting unauthorized banners and hazardous hoardings along public thoroughfares.
Stalin characterized the government's conduct as lawless sycophancy, where ruling party leaders prioritized self-glorification over the fundamental safety of traveling citizens. He pointed out that despite repeated judicial reprimands and citizen grievances, municipal corporations and local police turned a blind eye to massive illegal structures erected by partisan functionaries. This culture of administrative impunity directly claimed an innocent young professional's life, leaving a grief-stricken family devastated.
The DMK leader demanded strict criminal prosecution against the individuals and officials responsible for erecting the unauthorized structures. He warned that governance cannot operate above constitutional jurisprudence. Stalin affirmed that the DMK will persistently champion civic safety and enforce strict legal accountability against reckless public displays across the state.
