#RIPPeriyapandi https://t.co/0maeh8MYqX

DMK working president M.K. Stalin visited the Chennai airport cargo terminal on December 14, 2017, to pay solemn floral tributes to the mortal remains of Tamil Nadu Police Inspector S. Periyapandian. The courageous police officer was tragically shot dead during an interstate special operation in Pali district of Rajasthan while pursuing dangerous burglary suspects involved in a major Chennai heist. Stalin conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and grief-stricken fellow police personnel.
Stalin urged Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami to coordinate directly with the Rajasthan state administration to expedite high-level investigations and ensure the immediate apprehension of the perpetrators. He stressed that a dedicated police officer who sacrificed his life in the line of duty deserved full governmental honors, swift justice, and comprehensive state support for his surviving family.
The DMK leader called upon the government to re-examine operational safety protocols, inter-state law enforcement coordination, and tactical equipment provided to special investigation teams deployed on perilous cross-border missions. Stalin affirmed that the entire state stood in solidarity with the police department during this tragic hour, demanding uncompromising accountability for the perpetrators of this heinous crime.
