DMK working president M.K. Stalin sharply attacked the ruling AIADMK during the final phase of election campaigning in Dr. Radhakrishnan Nagar on December 19, 2017. Addressing energetic gatherings across urban wards, Stalin questioned the moral legitimacy of factional leaders who betrayed former Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa and converted her sudden demise into an unresolved mystery. He asserted that those who exhibited utter disloyalty toward their political benefactor could never genuinely serve the residents of R.K. Nagar.
Stalin censured the ruling dispensation for resorting to widespread cash distribution and deceptive promises instead of accounting for their administrative track record. He pointed out that despite representing the constituency for years, the ruling party neglected basic civic amenities, potable drinking water, underground drainage, and local infrastructure. Now, faced with electoral rejection, they sought to purchase votes through illicit monetary inducements while spreading baseless campaign falsehoods.
The DMK leader urged voters to reject transactional politics and uphold democratic dignity by delivering a decisive verdict. He affirmed that the DMK candidate Maruthu Ganesh represented genuine grassroots service and accountability. Stalin pledged that a DMK victory would restore civic development and end governmental apathy across north Chennai.
