#CBSEPaperLeak is another example of the pitfalls of centralized education. Re-examination is nothing less than injustice for 28 lakh students & parents, and shatters our collective faith in our national education system. @PMOIndia and @HRDMinistry must inquire and take action.
DMK working president M.K. Stalin highlighted the severe pitfalls of centralized educational administration on March 29, 2018, following widespread reports of question paper leaks in the Central Board of Secondary Education examinations. Stalin stated that forcing 28 lakh students to sit for stressful re-examinations represented an immense injustice to young learners and their anxious parents, thoroughly shattering public confidence in the national education system.
Stalin asserted that the administrative failure demonstrated how excessive centralization of school examinations bred systemic vulnerability, corruption, and inefficiency. He argued that top-down educational control stripped regional authorities of oversight and created widespread distress among students who had spent months preparing diligently for their crucial board evaluations.
The DMK leader called upon the Prime Minister's Office and the Ministry of Human Resource Development to conduct an immediate, transparent inquiry into the leak and fix stringent institutional accountability. Stalin affirmed that genuine educational progress required respecting diversity, decentralizing examination management, and protecting the mental well-being of students. He reiterated the DMK's longstanding stance that education should be returned unconditionally to the state list of the Indian Constitution.
