DMK working president M.K. Stalin noted that the state's citizens had entered a decisive struggle against the continuous deception practiced by the Union government, which had willfully defaulted on its legal obligation to set up the Cauvery Management Board.

Stalin appealed to every section of society to make the statewide shutdown scheduled for the following day an unprecedented success. He urged merchants, transport operators, professionals, and civic organizations to join hands peacefully, emphasizing that a united commercial and public pause would powerfully communicate Tamil Nadu's collective outrage and determination to the entire nation.
