#TNFight4Cauvery https://t.co/xcPSW5rBuU

DMK working president M.K. Stalin remarked on April 8, 2018, that the overwhelming public reception and spirited mobilization witnessed during the first two days of the Cauvery Rights Retrieval Yatra had reverberated across Tamil Nadu and echoed all the way to New Delhi. Stalin stated that the spontaneous turnout of farmers, agricultural laborers, and ordinary citizens along the march route reflected an unyielding regional consensus.
Looking ahead to the Supreme Court's scheduled hearing on the Cauvery dispute the following day, Stalin expressed confidence that the apex court would take judicial notice of the genuine distress of delta farmers and direct the Centre to comply strictly with its judgment. He noted that the six-week deadline set by the court had been completely disregarded by the Union government through evasive legal petitions.
Stalin asserted that constitutional democracy could not permit the executive to willfully flout judicial decrees for narrow electoral gains in neighbouring states. He affirmed that the DMK and its allies would maintain relentless democratic mobilization on the ground, ensuring that the legitimate water rights of Tamil Nadu were firmly vindicated.
