#TNFight4Cauvery https://t.co/ZrLp1cJv1L

DMK working president M.K. Stalin addressed a massive public gathering at Sembanarkovil in Mayiladuthurai region on April 11, 2018, marking the fifth day of the Cauvery Rights Retrieval Yatra. Stalin called upon the people of Tamil Nadu to observe the scheduled visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi the following day as a solemn day of mourning.
He urged citizens across all districts to wave black flags, wear black garments, and raise black flags over their homes to register unambiguous democratic opposition to the Union government. Stalin criticized the Centre for dishonoring the Supreme Court's verdict by deliberately failing to constitute the Cauvery Management Board within the prescribed timeline. He stated that arriving in Chennai without executing judicial directions on interstate water sharing was an affront to the state's agrarian society.
Stalin emphasized that democratic dissent must be demonstrated peacefully and universally across Tamil Nadu. He asserted that the collective show of black flags would convey to New Delhi that Tamil Nadu would not tolerate continued economic injustice against its farming community. He concluded that nonviolent resistance remained the bedrock of the Dravidian movement.
