DMK working president M.K. Stalin on April 25, 2018, strongly condemned both central and state governments for assigning examination centres in distant northern states to medical aspirants from Tamil Nadu appearing for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. Stalin stated that forcing young candidates and their parents to travel thousands of kilometres right before a crucial entrance test caused acute mental stress and severe financial hardship.
He criticized the Central Board of Secondary Education and state administrative authorities for displaying sheer callousness toward local students. Stalin pointed out that while applicants had opted for nearby venues within Tamil Nadu, arbitrary allocations forced candidates to travel as far as Rajasthan and Kerala without adequate logistical support. He stressed that such mismanagement shattered the confidence of aspiring rural students who lacked travel means.
Stalin demanded that the authorities immediately cancel these unfair allocations and establish adequate examination infrastructure within Tamil Nadu. He reiterated the DMK's principled opposition to NEET as an assault on state educational autonomy and social justice, urging the state administration to stand firmly with affected students and protect youth from arbitrary administrative injustice.
