DMK working president M.K. Stalin registered stern condemnation on May 4, 2018, against both the Union BJP government and the subservient AIADMK state ministry after the Supreme Court stayed a Madras High Court order that had directed CBSE to accommodate Tamil Nadu candidates within their home state. Stalin stated that central authorities acted with vindictive zeal by pursuing an urgent appeal to overturn the High Court's humanitarian order, forcing tens of thousands of young students to travel hundreds of kilometers away.
Stalin criticized the AIADMK government for offering only token legal resistance while tacitly submitting to the Centre's anti-student agenda. He pointed out that central authorities displayed blatant administrative bias by creating adequate examination infrastructure in northern states while deliberately neglecting the testing capacity required in Tamil Nadu. This geographic discrimination inflicted acute mental anxiety and financial penalties on Tamil youth aspiring for medical education.
Reiterating the DMK's uncompromising opposition to NEET, Stalin stated that the entrance test systematically destroys the social justice vision established through state medical admissions. He pledged that the party will sustain legal and parliamentary fights until the examination is abolished. Stalin affirmed that the DMK will always stand as the guardian of student rights.
