In 1985, M. Karunanidhi founded the Tamil Eelam Supporters Organisation (TESO), with himself as president and figures such as K. Veeramani and P. Nedumaran among its members. The organisation campaigned for an independent Tamil Eelam in the northeast of Sri Lanka.
1985ஆம் ஆண்டில், மு. கருணாநிதி தமிழீழ ஆதரவாளர் அமைப்பை (டெசோ) நிறுவினார்; அவரே தலைவராக இருந்தார், கி. வீரமணி, பா. நெடுமாறன் போன்றோர் உறுப்பினர்களாக இருந்தனர். இலங்கையின் வடகிழக்கில் தனி தமிழீழம் அமைய வேண்டும் என இந்த அமைப்பு பிரச்சாரம் செய்தது.
Significance
TESO institutionalised the DMK leadership's advocacy for Sri Lankan Tamils and gave the cause an organised platform that the party continued to use in later decades.
டெசோ, இலங்கைத் தமிழர்களுக்கான திமுக தலைமையின் ஆதரவை ஒரு நிறுவன வடிவில் கொண்டுவந்தது; பிந்தைய தசாப்தங்களிலும் கட்சி தொடர்ந்து பயன்படுத்திய ஒரு ஒழுங்கமைந்த தளத்தை இந்த நோக்கத்திற்கு வழங்கியது.
