The Tamil Nadu Small Industries Development Corporation (TANSIDCO/SIDCO) was established under Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi to act as a core enabler for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The state enterprise focused on constructing specialized small-scale industrial estates, allocating scarce raw materials, and extending credit subsidies.
