Launched in 2010, the DMK government started the pioneering First Graduate Scheme. The initiative ordered complete tuition fee waivers and professional counseling funding coverage for college applicants who represent the absolute first generation in their families to obtain an undergraduate collegiate degree. It successfully targeted structural family poverty by taking away the steep capital entry costs of engineering and professional learning setups.
