On 15 September 2023, Chief Minister M. K. Stalin launched the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thittam at Kanchipuram, the birthplace of C. N. Annadurai. The scheme provides Rs 1,000 a month to about one crore eligible women who head households, with the government estimating annual spending in the range of Rs 12,000 crore.
15 செப்டம்பர் 2023 அன்று, முதலமைச்சர் மு. க. ஸ்டாலின் சி. என். அண்ணாதுரையின் பிறந்த இடமான காஞ்சிபுரத்தில் கலைஞர் மகளிர் உரிமைத் தொகை திட்டத்தைத் தொடங்கினார். இத்திட்டம் குடும்பத் தலைமை வகிக்கும் சுமார் ஒரு கோடி தகுதியான பெண்களுக்கு மாதம் ரூ. 1,000 வழங்குகிறது; ஆண்டுச் செலவு சுமார் ரூ. 12,000 கோடி எனும் வரம்பில் இருக்கும் என அரசு மதிப்பிட்டது.
Significance
The scheme is the largest direct-cash welfare programme of the DMK government, framed by Stalin as recognising women's economic rights and unpaid domestic labour.
